Churches Together in Woburn & District
The local Churches of Aspley Guise, Aspley Heath, Battlesden with Pottesgrove, Eversholt, Husborne Crawley, Milton Bryan, Ridgmont, Woburn and Woburn Sands have worked together for over 50 years to support each other and our local community. We join together for a Good Friday Walk of Witness and Services for the World Day of Prayer, The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and the town Remembrance Service. The local churches have worked together to build a school in Sierra Leone, provide wellington boots for rice harvesters in Bangladesh and set up a winter night shelter.
Love Woburn Sands
Love Woburn Sands operates a number of projects to benefit the community. These change from time to time depending on priorities and demand. The projects we are currently running are:
-
Community Transport – helping local people attend social events, get to medical appointments, go shopping etc.
-
Social Prescribing – through the well being programme, making connections to give people a sense of belonging that comes from being part of a community group and a new sense of purpose through enjoying activities they might not have tried before.
-
Walk & Talk – a walking club with extended social activities.
-
Yarn Club – teaching young people to knit with yarn and wool.
